Contest:
Make an Ampersand Puzzle

This month's contest is related to ampersand puzzles.

Create and send us your own ampersand puzzle. When someone completes your puzzle, the first letters of the missing words should spell out an important message on a topic of your choice. If your puzzle is judged to be the best entry, you will receive a gift certificate worth up to $50 of Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer merchandise.

THE RULES

Judging criteria include novelty and creativity of the ampersand pairs and the relevance of the message.

There are three ways to submit your entry:

Include your name, address, e-mail address, and telephone number with your entry.

The decision of our judges is final.

You may send more than one entry. Send each entry on a separate sheet or as a separate e-mail note.

Entries become property of Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer.

Deadline for this contest is June 1, 2000.

Once upon a time, we conducted a very popular contest in which participants were asked to come up with creative or funny expansions of a common word, pretending that it is an acronym.

For example, BOOK may be expanded to Big Old Oaks Killed or Body Of Obsolete Knowledge.

The winning entries in our earlier contest expanded GAME to Gain Awareness, Maintain Enthusiasm and Great Alternatives to Mindless Explanations.

If TEAM were an acronym, what would be the expansion? A popular expansion found in teambuilding books is Together Everyone Achieves More. Let's see if you can come up with a better expansion. Send one or more suitable expansions for TEAM as an acronym. If we judge yours to be the best, you win a gift certificate worth up to $50 toward the purchase of Jossey-Bass/Pfeiffer books.
